Comparing Fager Titanium Snaffles - Amanda and Emil

Fager Amanda vs Fager Emil

Which one is right for your horse?

Both the Amanda and Emil are refined, dressage-legal snaffles designed to improve the contact — but they suit very different types of horses.

Choose Fager Amanda if your horse:

  • Sits above the bit or avoids coming into the contact
  • Feels inconsistent or disconnected in the rein
  • Needs support into a more stable frame
  • Goes better with a steady, consistent feel across the tongue
  • You want to improve connection without using poll pressure (e.g. Baucher)

👉 Effect: Encourages the horse to soften, lower, and take a more consistent contact forward.

Choose Fager Emil if your horse:

  • Is sensitive, light, or overreactive in the mouth
  • Backs off the contact or feels behind the bit
  • Dislikes too much pressure or consistency
  • Needs a softer, more forgiving feel
  • You want to reduce pressure and allow the horse to come forward confidently

👉 Effect: Creates a lighter, more elastic contact and encourages the horse to seek the hand without pressure.

Key difference (simple)

  • Amanda → more support and consistency into the contact
  • Emil → more softness and freedom in the contact

Bit fitter insight:

If your horse needs help coming into the contact, start with Amanda.

If your horse needs to feel less pressure and more confidence, Emil is the better option.
