Eggbutt bit is a snaffle with flattened rings and a mouthpiece. Rings shaped like an egg. The bit rings can swivel front and back but the mouthpiece is solidly attached and there is little vertical play except through the rider's hands. Once the reins are picked up, the horse immediately feels the but move. This type of snaffle is suited to younger horses or those who need steady steering.
