Eggbutt bit is a snaffle with flattened rings and a mouthpiece. Rings shaped like an egg. The bit rings can swivel front and back but the mouthpiece is solidly attached and there is little vertical play except through the riders hands. Once the reins are picked up, the horse immedidately feels the but move. This type of snaffle is suited to younger horses or those who need steady steering.
